Message from the President:

Greetings Virginia Business Education Teachers!  I am so excited and honored to serve as your VBEA President for the coming year. To those of you who took time out of your precious summer to join us at Virginia Beach for the 2011 conference, I would like to say “thank you” and “way to go”! It was an awesome conference – a wonderful opportunity to learn new things, refresh your spirits, and perhaps most important, network with friends old and new. Thank you, Virginia Beach, for being such a fabulous host! As we begin to look forward to the VBEA 2012 Summer Conference, which will be held in Roanoke at the beautiful Hotel Roanoke, I would like to encourage you to come again! And if you have never attended a conference, please let this be the year you start. You will not regret it!

Most of us know at least one Business and Information Technology teacher who is not a member of our professional organization. It may be difficult to understand the benefits available to members if the only information you have is from ListServ messages and this website; therefore, I would like to ask you to do something for VBEA. Please take the time to contact a fellow BIT teacher personally and invite them to join us in the best CTE professional organization ever – VBEA! Please tell them about all the advantages membership has to offer. Imagine, if each of us recruited one new member, our membership would double. That would be phenomenal! And we can do it!

Again, thank you for the pleasure of serving as your President this year. I wish all of you the best in the 2011-2012 school year.  If you have any questions or need further information about VBEA, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Christy Sellers, VBEA President
